S.I.S.T.E.R.S. Women’s Fellowship on May 12

S.I.S.T.E.R.S. Act II will host the next Women’s Fellowship on Saturday, May 12, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Victory Impact Center. Please register in advance by signing up in the foyer. The cost to attend is $10/person. This theme for this event is a Mother/Daughter Fashion Show. All our welcome! If you want to walk the runway, please plan to attend a rehearsal on Thursday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. If you would like to participate in the Women’s Praise Team for this event, rehearsals are scheduled on May 3 and May 10 at 7:30 p.m. Contact Rene Blake to confirm your participation.

Children’s Ministry Appreciation Luncheon & Planning Meeting

A Children’s Church Appreciation Luncheon and Planning Meeting will be held at Victory Chapel on Saturday, April 28, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. All teachers and assistants are invited to attend and be recognized for their service in the ministry. Also, this will be a planning meeting for the upcoming Children’s Ministry Open House, scheduled for May 19.

Celebrate Easter With Us

Dear Beloved Congregation,

We will celebrate Easter this upcoming Sunday! It will be a time of celebration of the promise of eternal life for all those that accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord! Let’s do our due diligence and invite the un-churched and the unsaved to worship with us. Let’s not assume they will come just because it’s Easter. Sometimes people just need a personal invitation, so step out in faith with love and invite them to experience the love of Christ on Easter Sunday! If they have children, let them know we have a children and teens program. We will also hold a Good Friday service beginning at 7:45 p.m. on April 6. Please also invite your family, friends, neighbors and their children to the Easter Monday Extravaganza at the Victory Impact Center (VIC) on Monday, April 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Coupled in Christ Marriage Summit

“The Five Love Languages”

When: Saturday, March 31, 2012; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Victory Impact Center, 16200 Livingston Road

What if you could say or do just the right thing guaranteed to make that special someone feel loved? The secret is learning the right love language! Of the countless ways we can show love to one another, five key categories, or five love languages, are universal and comprehensive: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. At this Summit, we’ll get video instruction, work in small groups, and discuss real-life examples on how to identify practical and powerful ways to express love, simply by using the appropriate love language.

The Summit will include lunch, snacks, and study materials. There is no charge to attend, but a freewill offering will occur at the event for those who would like to contribute. We request that you arrange your own child care during the Summit. Dear Beloved Congregation,

As we thought about a message to send to you this Christmas Season, we came across this poem that speaks the sentiments we wanted to convey to you. Be blessed by His Presence this Christmas Season.

A Different Kind Of Christmas

Sometimes Christmas is just overwhelming, it seems,
As we rush around buying up stuff.
We spend without end, and we rack up those bills,
But it feels like it’s never enough.

So this Christmas, let’s all take a different approach:
Let’s try to be more in accord
With God’s Christmas gift, the best one of all–
Our sweet Jesus, our Savior, our Lord.

We’ll be gentle and patient, and loving and kind,
And we’ll keep our priorities straight;
The gifts of the Spirit, the gifts of the heart
Are the ones that we’ll all celebrate.

And our stress will decrease, and we’ll feel more at peace,
As we decorate, package, and trim;
Our new Christmas will be a pure joy and delight,
As we try to be much more like Him.
